On Sunday Transparency International (TI) Lithuania won the prestigious “Amalia” anti-corruption award. This award was granted for the TI Transparency School, the largest event of its kind in the world. Over the last decade, Transparency School has brought together over 1,200 young professionals from more than 120 countries in Vilnius.

Transparency International movement has been giving out “Amalia” awards since 2015 for exceptional TI initiatives and to employees who bring outstanding change.

During the week-long Transparency School, participants learn about the causes of corruption and look for ways to achieve transparency in their respective environments. Each year, leading anti-corruption and transparency experts from around the globe share their experiences with participants. TI Lithuania organizes the school in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris University.

“I am grateful to our global movement for such a high evaluation. After all, this award is like an anti-corruption ‘Oscar’. I am delighted that our colleagues think that TI Lithuania contributed to the creation of a good, inspiring example. I know that this will only further encourage our team to include more people in transparency initiatives” said Sergejus Muravjovas, CEO of Transparency International Lithuania.
