The 9th International Transparency School starts

This week, from the 2nd to the 8th of July, 130 youth leaders from more than 50 countries around the world will participate in the 9th edition of Transparency International School on Integrity in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. The largest event of its kind in the world, it has gathered more than 1000 participants throughout the last nine years.

During the one-week-long Summer School, young people will attend intensive anti-corruption trainings in which they will learn more about the causes and different faces of corruption. Together with lecturers, they will try to identify how to seek for an increase in transparency and how to fight corruption in the daily lives of their respective countries. Particular attention will be paid to developing practical skills of the participants. The School will be opened by the Chairwoman of Transparency International Delia Matilde Ferreira Rubio.

The lecturers who will share their experience with the young leaders come from around the world:  participants will have an opportunity to meet the most well-known anti-corruption and transparency experts from Argentina, Germany, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Lithuania, Mexico, Russia, the South African Republic, the USA, the United Kingdom, Ukraine,  and Zambia.

The School is organized by Transparency International Lithuanian Chapter in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris University.

University students who finish the training successfully will obtain 6 ECTS credits that will count among their study programme credits.

This year several partners contributed to the organization of the School: Transparency International global secretariat, the European Commission, the embassies of the United Kingdom and France and the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.
